ESG Scores, Awards and Recognitions
Recruit Holdings is committed to making a positive impact on society and the planet through corporate activities that allow us to prosper together with all of our stakeholders. We have set environmental, social and governance commitments to achieve by 2030, and disclosed our progress and initiatives. ESG scores are evaluated based on such disclosures.
Recruit Holdings recognizes that ESG scores, and indices or awards that are evaluated based on the results of the scores are an important and valuable tool to help us better communicate such initiatives and engage with both internal and external stakeholders, including the capital market. At Recruit Holdings, ESG scores are thoroughly reviewed. The results are referenced and utilized for its continued efforts in improving its corporate activities, with the goal of increasing long-term corporate value and creating a positive and sustainable impact on society and the planet so that all may prosper together.

DJSI is one of the global ESG indices developed by S&P Dow Jones and RobecoSAM. Recruit Holdings has been selected for Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index.
The iSTOXX MUTB Japan Platinum Career 150 Index
Developed by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation and STOXX, an index provider affiliated with Deutsche Borse. The index is composed of 150 Japanese companies that actively take initiatives for employee career development.

Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index (GenDi J)*5
The index is developed by Morningstar. It is composed of 930 companies*6 on the basis of Equileap’s evaluation of initiatives for gender and diversity.

Recognized as Sustainalytics ESG Regional Top Rated company
Sustainalytics, a Morningstar Company, is a leading ESG research, ratings and data firm. Recruit Holdings has been identified as a top regional ESG performer out of more than 14,000 global companies.
Received “A” score on climate change by CDP
Recruit Holdings has been recognized for leadership in corporate transparency and performance on climate change by CDP, the London-headquartered international non-profit environmental organization. The CDP score is based on companies’ responses to its fully TCFD-aligned questionnaire. The Company was highly recognized for its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout the company and its value chain.
In 2023, 346 companies were selected for the A-List out of approximately 23,000 companies that responded to environmental disclosure in the climate change sector. Of these, 103 were Japanese companies, including Recruit Holdings.
Selected for the “Supplier Engagement Leaderboard” in CDP 2022 Climate Change Assessment
The CDP*7 Supplier Engagement Rating evaluates corporate engagement with supply chain partners to address climate change issues, and in FY2022, the top 8% of global companies that responded to the CDP questionnaire were selected.
Won FT Innovative Lawyers Asia-pacific Award for 2023 in the category of “In-house: Innovation in Commercial & Strategic Advice”
The award recognizes the efforts of Recruit Co., Ltd. on further strengthening the data protection and privacy after the discovery of data breach at one of its subsidiaries in 2019. The team at Recruit consolidated privacy policy developed and optimized for specific products into a few documents and developed a system that enabled necessary amendments to be automatically made at once across 300 different product lines to ensure that the business’s new or updated products are privacy compliant timely and efficiently.
Won First Place in the 2023 Award for Excellence in Corporate Disclosure Selected by Securities Analysts Association of Japan
The Securities Analysts Association of Japan (SAAJ) annually selects and awards companies with excellent disclosure practices to recognize and promote fair and high-quality corporate disclosure. We are pleased to announce that we were selected as the first-place winner in the advertising, media, and entertainment industry.
According to the Association, we were highly commended in the categories for "Management's Approach to IR", as a result of the participation of our director in charge in financial results briefings and ESG events, as well as for "ESG-related", as a result of holding ESG Fireside Chat regularly, in addition to enhancing the disclosure of ESG data through the publication of reports.
Selected as "Outstanding Integrated Report" by GPIF’s Japanese equity managers
The Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) of Japan asked external asset managers entrusted with Japanese equity investment to each nominate up to 10 excellent integrated reports. Multiple external asset managers selected Recruit Holdings’ company profile, “Recruit Group Profile: Inside Out 2022” as their choice of "Outstanding Integrated Reports."

What is an ESG Score?
ESG scores measure a company’s performance in managing environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities such as climate change, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), human rights and social impact. ESG scores are calculated by rating agencies or index providers. ESG scores are usually expressed in numerical scores or letter ratings.
Why is an ESG score important?
ESG scores show a company’s competitive advantage as well as shed light on the areas a company needs improvement in its efforts. ESG scores are used by investment professionals as a part of their assessment on companies’ potential risks and growth.
